MAC Midwest Aikido Center

General Membership Information
The Midwest Aikido Center (MAC) was established in 1975 under Illinois state law as a not-for-profit educational corporation for the dissemination of Aikido technique and philosophy.

Aikido classes are held seven days a week and are open to students of all levels. All members are encouraged to practice as often as possible, but each student determines how many times per week or month they are able to attend class. The pace of each training session, whether relaxed or more rigorous, is also determined by the individual student.

Beginners may start at any time in the regular classes where they are given instruction by more advanced students. There is also an option to join the Beginners Course which runs for 12 sessions over a six-week period. Beginners Course classes meet on Sunday mornings at 11:30a.m. and Thursday evenings at 8:00p.m.

There are no contracts; membership dues are remitted on a monthly basis.

There are separate classes for children, and special rates for college students and married couples.

The Midwest Aikido Center is open to the public and visitors are welcome to observe class at any time, without appointment. Questions may be asked at the front desk or please call us for more information.

The Midwest Aikido Center is a tax-exempt organization under the Internal Revenue Code, section 501 (c)(3). Donations (though not dues or fees) are tax-deductible.

The Midwest Aikido Center is open to all applicants regardless of race, color, sex, ethnic or national origin, or religion. Membership requires only the willingness and ability to pay dues, practice techniques, and follow the rules and regulations of the Center.
