Akira Tohei Doshikai Do: Shared, the same. Shi: Aspiration, motivation or goal. Kai: Group. The Midwest Aikido Center wishes that all of Tohei Sensei's students will view our new circumstances as an opportunity for all of us to reaffirm our inherent connection to Akira Tohei Shihan and continue his legacy in a manner that is inclusive to all. The Midwest Aikido Center can never again expect to solely be at the core of such efforts and we look forward to freely engaging with our friends so that we may all find our way back to one another.
